Fit check

Who this is for — and who it isn’t

Strong fit

  • Already paying for desk AI, cloud LLMs, dev AI (Cursor/Copilot), or private models
  • Executive sponsor with authority to act on findings
  • Regulated or security-conscious environment
  • Stalled pilot or no adoption program after purchase
  • Need a prioritized roadmap, not another strategy deck

Not a fit

  • Free comprehensive audit before any commitment
  • No access to process owners for interviews
  • “Just build us a chatbot” with no workflow owner
  • Guaranteed ROI without sharing operational context

What this is

Opportunity discovery before you build anything else

Most organizations bought Copilot, Azure AI, or similar tools before they mapped where those tools could create the most value — or what is blocking adoption. This assessment identifies opportunities and readiness gaps (skills, data quality, siloed teams, org structure) — deliberately and on a fixed scope.

💸

Untapped licenses

Opportunity to connect AI capabilities you already pay for to the workflows where they will move the needle.

🔄

Process improvement wins

Chances to streamline handoffs, eliminate duplicate entry, and speed reporting — the same levers as classic BPI and automation work.

What AI makes newly possible

Summarization, classification, drafting, and cross-system intelligence — applied where they change throughput, accuracy, or cycle time.

One engagement, three lenses

BPI, automation, and integration — with AI in the mix

We start with how work flows through your organization, then identify where AI unlocks value on top of improvements you would have pursued anyway.

📐

Business process improvement

Map workflows and find opportunities to improve margin, speed, or quality at key constraints.

⚙️

Automation

Spot repetitive, rules-based work suited for orchestration — with or without AI — and quantify time recovered.

🔗

Integration

Identify where connecting systems eliminates re-keying, exports, and data lost between steps.

Assessment deliverables

Opportunities you can act on — internally or with OWCER

The assessment ends with a prioritized opportunity register, a clear view of what is blocking value today, and an actionable roadmap. Implementation is a separate follow-on project scoped from the opportunities you choose to pursue — and the readiness work needed to unlock them.

🗺️

Process maps & workflow baseline

How work flows today — the context for identifying where improvement and AI activation create the most value.

Discovery
📋

Prioritized opportunity register

Scored list of BPI, automation, integration, and AI activation opportunities — plus readiness gaps that need attention first — with impact and effort estimates.

Opportunities
🤖

AI utilization review

What you already license vs. what teams actually use — and where existing AI tools fit each opportunity.

Activation
📅

Actionable roadmap

90-day priorities plus longer-term sequence — a clear path to the value you expect from your AI investment.

Roadmap

How it works

Discover → prioritize → decide what to build next

Typically 2–4 weeks. The assessment delivers opportunities and a roadmap — not implementation.

1
Interview & map
Talk to the people who do the work. Map processes, systems, and where your AI licenses could create more value.
2
Identify & score
Build the opportunity register and surface readiness gaps — BPI, automation, integration, and AI-specific wins ranked by impact and feasibility, with blockers called out where they limit value.
3
Validate
Check priorities with stakeholders so opportunities reflect operational reality, not consultant assumptions.
4
Readout
Executive presentation of prioritized opportunities, roadmap, and optional follow-on project scopes with OWCER.

After the assessment

Follow-on projects pursue the opportunities

The assessment identifies value and what is holding it back; follow-on work captures opportunities and clears blockers. You choose which opportunities and readiness work to pursue — you are not buying a fixed bundle upfront.

🚀

Copilot & AI activation

Role-based adoption, scenarios, and training tied to opportunities identified in the assessment.

🔧

Automation & workflow build

Implement the integrations and automations ranked highest in the opportunity register.

🛡️

Governance & cloud enablement

Address permissions, labeling, or identity prerequisites so you can scale AI safely.

📊

Process redesign

Larger BPI changes where AI is one lever in a broader operating-model improvement.

🗄️

Data quality & acquisition

AI depends on data — improve completeness, accuracy, and trustworthiness, and connect or acquire sources where gaps block activation.

You may pursue follow-on work internally. Many clients engage OWCER because we already understand the business context from discovery.

Built for your environment

We work in the platforms and pipelines you already use

Every opportunity is shaped by your real systems—cloud LLMs, private AI, dev tooling, data platforms, and integrations—with governance and readiness included from the start.

Common questions

Frequently asked

What is an AI audit?

An AI audit is a structured review of your AI investments, licenses, and how teams actually use them. OWCER’s AI Activation Assessment is often called an AI audit — we focus on uncovering opportunities to get more value from what you already own, surfacing what is blocking that value, plus a prioritized roadmap to act on.

Is implementation included?

No. The assessment produces a prioritized opportunity register and roadmap. Follow-on projects — activation sprints, automation builds, cloud enablement — are scoped separately from the opportunities you choose to pursue.

How is this different from classic consulting?

Same discipline as BPI and systems integration work: map processes, identify opportunities, quantify impact. AI is the new lever — summarization, classification, copilots, agents — applied where it changes outcomes.

Do we have to use OWCER for follow-on work?

No. Deliverables are yours. Many clients do hire us for follow-on projects because discovery is already done and priorities are validated.

ROI framing

What idle Copilot spend actually costs

Illustrative math for a mid-market tenant — your numbers will differ. The assessment quantifies opportunities using your license data and workflows.

License spend at risk

200 Copilot seats × ~$30/user/month ≈ $72K/year. If weekly active usage sits near 15%, most of that spend is not changing how work gets done.

Assessment vs. waste

A fixed discovery engagement ($15K–$40K typical) maps where activation pays back first — often one or two workflows with measurable hours saved per week.

Example payback

Recovering 5 hours/week across 40 knowledge workers at a $75 loaded rate ≈ $780K/year in capacity (before license ROI). We validate assumptions in discovery, not on a marketing calculator.
